Greg was a superstitious man. He avoided anything that might give him bad luck, so when one day someone pushed him under ladder, he just about thought his life was over. It was Chinese New Year, so Greg reassured himself by saying his bad luck could be erased today. As soon as he stepped into his home his aunt rushed up to him with open arms.
“Kung Hei Fat Choy!” She handed him a bright red envelope. Later as he opened the envelope, four coins tumbled out. Greg tried to catch them, but he found himself sinking in wet pavement.
