My name was Ricky. I’ve always found a interest in nature and animals. I lived in San Diego and i lived about 1 hour drive away from the zoo. I go every year. My favorite animals to see were the gorillas. I found it so fascinating how we evolved from them. The brick wall on the side of the cage was rustier than metal with water on it. The gorillas had a yellow, green, and brown cage to try to represent actual forest. The were running down when the food was revealed. Their cage was pretty. I will go next year!

100 Word Challenge Week 9 Jake

As I lay in bed, I stare at the closet. The door creaked, and I wondered what was behind the door. I stared, and stared. The door, seemingly creaking open, was still shut tight. Another creak. I ran out of my bedroom, all the way to mom and dad, who lay asleep in bed. They wake up, and tell me it was just a “dream”. As they put me back in bed, all is well again. But a few seconds later, I looked over at the door, and notice something strange. The door, was now wide, wide open.

I have always wondered what is behind that door. If anybody is there or I am just paranoid. I have always wanted to just walk there to see if anybody, but I am too scared. Like there is a yokai just waiting there to kill me. But I know that those aren’t real. But that still does not answer up my question. What is at the door? I finally have the courage to walk to the door. I do and there was nothing there. I had been paranoid of what happened last year. When I was killed…

Zak’s 100wc Entry

Knowledge is power,

Knowledge is right;

Knowledge sticks to the eager mind.

Knowledge frees,

Knowledge decrees,

That to pain and suffering we are confined.

Is it the truth,

Or truth a lie?

For lie is truth and truth is the Lie.

Here I sit and watch,

The every move,

Of that for which I die.

The azure tinge,

The gold hinge,

Obscure that which I seek.

The knob of bronze,

The gap that yawns,

In the space of the minds of the meek.

I flail in the dark,

As to light I hark,

For knowledge which

This entrancing door confines.

Athea 100WC week 9

The garden was beautiful. Enchanting. But something was off. The water was so blue, almost too blue. The sunlight was so warm, but it was supposed to be cold today. The gardeners were so polite, but something about their smiles was off. The way they stared at you, seemingly without blinking. The white teeth and vibrant eyes. The garden was perfect. None of the flowers wilted, none of the trees browned. There was a gate in a thick, opaque hedge. I kept thinking I could hear knocking and yells from behind the hedge. I wondered what was behind that door.

Samantha 100 WC Week 9

I woke one day and found myself at the edge of a city. It was organized in even rows with each building being identical and in pristine condition. But, something was wrong. It took me a moment to figure it out. The city was completely deserted. There wasn´t even trash on the streets. As far as the eye could see there was nothing but rows of identical buildings. I started down the street and came across a door different from all the others. I wondered what was behind the door. I pushed it open and woke up in my bed.

Sydney 100WC week 9

I was home alone that night. I was in the kitchen, everything was going well. I got up to go to my room to get my computer. I was at the door when I heard a scratching sound. I wondered what was behind the door. I quickly panicked and thought of dialing 911. When I realized my dog was home. I looked everywhere, fearing he was gone. I heard another scratch coming from my room. I carefully opened the door with no hesitation. My curiosity took over. But behind the door, I only found my dog’s eyes staring right at me.

100 WC Week 9 Marcus

I wondered what was behind the door. That was the real question, what was behind the door? I was breathing hard, what was behind the door? I knew that walking toward the door however fun it may seem was a bad idea. The yearning was too much. I crept toward the door wondering what was behind the door. That was the question. What was behind the door.
